How To Restart An iPhone 12 Without Touching The Screen?

How-To-Restart-An-iPhone-12-Without-Touching-The-Screen

Of all the iPhone models launched in the past, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are of the high performing ones. But, you may occasionally need to force restart any of these smartphones if the screen freezes or the touch isn’t working.

The vast majority of iPhone users will eventually need to restart or turn off their device at least twice in a month to give it a refreshing start, but for some models, no restart is needed. In case an app stucks while performing or hungs while opening, an iPhone 12 may cease responding to touches and specific button pushes.

If your smartphone screen isn’t responding to touch input or is preventing you from performing the swipe to power it off, you can consider restarting the device forcefully.

From the iPhone X to more recent models like the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, nearly all models that use Face ID can use the force restart technique. The majority of older devices feature various methods for forcing a restart, such as pressing the Home button.

How to switch the iPhone 12 on and off?
  • Hold down the volume up and side button simultaneously for a while.
  • At the top of the screen, click and drag the power icon to the right.
  • Hold the side button down until the Apple logo appears to turn it back on.

With this technique, the iPhone shuts down before going through the usual turn on process.

Force restart the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro
  • Press and quickly release the volume up button, followed by the volume down button.
  • Press and hold down the side button.
  • When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

While this method will attempt to restart your iPhone, it may not fix the problem.

Forcing a restart on iPhone 12 Pro

Be careful to pay attention and carefully follow all instructions when restarting your iPhone. This applies if you misunderstand the two sets of instructions and wind up pressing the volume up and side buttons repeatedly.

When you do this, the Emergency SOS function will begin to countdown for five seconds, vibrating for each number as it counts down from five and the Emergency SOS slider fills up. Just remember to pay attention and release the buttons if the vibration and countdown starts.

Though all these ways may sound complicated, you can follow these to restart an iPhone 12 without touching the screen. If you screen is frozen or hung and you are unable to turn your device on or off, feel free to contact our mobile repair experts at Jazzy Mobiles.
